if you are running 4dos on top of COMMAND.COM, then all you have to do
is something like this:

batch1.bat:
4dos /c job.bat

job.bat:
....
exit


The "4dos /c xxx" starts 4dos and has it execute the file
"xxx". The
"exit" at the end of the batch file will terminate the 4dos session and
return you to whatever was going on when you did the "4dos /c".
