Dunno what you're on about here, but I have so far never failed to connect
with your Viper.  Not once.  Must have been a NetComm calling.  :)

As I said in my other message, you don't understand how adaptive answer
works.  Unless there are fax CNG tones from the remote, YOUR modem should
answer AS a modem, and NOT in fax mode.  The problem is therefore at YOUR
end.  QED.
