Paul, at 18:16 on May 08 1996, you wrote to Bill Grimsley... BG> but if I need to call a known bad line for testing purposes, yours is as BG> good as any, PE> :-) That actually wasn't meant as a joke, as our combined lines appear to be right on the limit of acceptability for 28800 connects, with some at 26400, and with great consistency. It's ideal for various testing from here. BG> and I simply couldn't be bothered waiting until 1800 to do so. Happy now? PE> Not quite. What testing are you doing? Nothing scientific, so you wouldn't be interested anyway. BTW, have a rather interesting quote from the Courier printed manual... ------------------------------------------------------ Attaining Speeds Above 28.8 Kbps V.34 connections at 21.6, 24, and 26.4 Kbps are common. To get connections of 28.8, 31.2, and 33.6 Kbps, line quality must be PRISTINE end-to-end. ------------------------------------------------------- There's nothing pristine about my fucking lines, that's for sure. :( Regards, Bill --- Msgedsq/2 3.20* Origin: Logan City, SEQ +61 7 3200 8606 MO (3:640/305.9) SEEN-BY: 640/305 711/934 @PATH: 711/934 |
