Yes. That did the trick, thank you.

Additionally, with specific regard to Acrobat Reader, I have zero
interest in opening it within the browser (can't fathom why anybody
would), so I remove the .dll from the plugins directory, and verify
that it is setup as an application  helper, which it was.
