Alwyn Smith (640/201 from memory) maintains a direct feed to the US
backbone and filebone via an internet connection.  AFAIK not all of the
stuff that he brings in is available to FIDO systems in general - there's
some sort of cost recovery system running for it.  I've never really
investigated since I'm still up for STD to Brissy and can't afford a high
volume feed.
