MR> One thing that is sure to make it puke is for one of the MR> icons to have an invalid filename character in it, namely MR> the '&' character. As we all know, OS/2 takes that to mean MR> another command is being given, and a command like "r.ico MR> temp.ico" doesn't mean much. MR> To counteract this, I would like to detect for the presence MR> of this character in any filenames and inform the user that MR> they must be renamed. As of right now, the only way I have MR> of doing this is like this: If( Pos( "&", current_icon ) \= 0 ) Then ... "&" *is* a valid character for filenames -- you are accessing files that include this character in their names, yes? All you need to do is pass the file name enclosed in double quotes ( '"'current_icon'"' if I recall correctly). MR> I would like to redirect the output of the SAY command to a MR> text file which is referred to, but I do not know how to I believe the proper REXX way is to use the ADDRESS keyword, but I haven't worked with this myself. You could also pass the redirector symbols by enclosing them in quotes, as with the file name problem.
