"J"_Pole_Antenna_For_2_Meters
This is how to build a cheap antenna for UŽŽŽŽ¨ ŽAŽ
the 2 meter band. I have made several of Cap-> 3 3 3
them and find that they work well. It is AŽŽŽŽ' 3
built from an article that appeared in 3 3 3
CQ and was written by W8YDF. KA8LLE and 3 3 3
I worked on this project and found that 3 3 3
the antenna can be made from copper pipe. 3 3 3
What is needed to make the antenna is one 3 3 3
10' length of 1/2" copper pipe, one 1/2" 3 3 3
copper tee, one 1/2" copper Ell, and two 3 3 3
1/2" copper caps. This is all soldered 3 3 3
together and makes a very strong antenna. 3 3 3
The print on the right shows the specs on 3 3 3
how long the lengths of pipe are to be 3 3 57"
cut. The feed line hooks to the antenna 3 3 3
at 2 3/4" up from the top of the bottom 3 3 3
cross pipe. I hooked the coax to the 3 3 3
antenna by drilling a hole in the pipe ŽAŽŽ UŽŽŽŽ¨ 3 3 3
then soldering a 10/32 nut over the hole. 3 3 3 <-Cap 3 3 3
That way you can put a 10/32 screw 3 AŽŽŽŽ' 3 3 3
through a wire and fasten it to the 3 3 3 3 3 3
antenna. The total cost of the antenna 3 3 3 3 3 3
should be around $5.00. It makes a good 3 3 3 3 3 3
portable antenna for your camper or to 19" 3 3 3 3 3
mountain top with. 3 3 33 3 3
