| subject: | Palette question re DIVE |
PH>Hi Rob! PH>[..] PH> RB> I've been playing with the DIVE spec and have ported a 3D PH> RB> texture map graphics engine to run in a little window on the screen. PH>Hmm, Rob could you provide me with some information on DIVE ? PH>The only thing I heard about it is, that's it's sort of a counterpart to M$' PH>WinG... ? Since you have an internet address, you can find DIVE.ZIP at ftp.cdrom.com under os2/2_x/programming I believe - it's something like that - that's where I got it from. Dive is basically an API that lets you directly access the PM video ram for use in high performance applications like video or games. Ever watched an Ultimotion video clip? Dive is how they do that. With the graphics engine I'm playing with I get around 15fps with a 320x200 window on my 800x600 screen. It appears to run as smooth and fast as the 320x200 full screen version I have. Now if I could just get the colors to work. Rob. ___ X SLMR 2.1a X Press any key to continue or any other key to quit --- Maximus/2 2.01wb* Origin: The Idle Task... (604)275-0835 Richmond BC.
