JV> Yup. Still here. I've just become a lurker.....
Well hope you start coming out of lurk mode.
MB> .....have you ever grown verbena?
JV> I've bought verbena a couple of times. The first time, it was
JV> a pretty good sized plant, and I bought it for my patio table
JV> just after I moved here. The thing became totally covered by
JV> some kind of mildew. The others I've bought were little buggers.
JV> They just never live for me. I think I need to learn some
JV> drastic new methods of watering things down here.
Oh maybe I'm doing real well then since it has lived so long!
It doesn't have mildew or any disease problems, just never has
flowers. I saw some at Home Depot last week that had lot's of
flowers. I wonder what I need to do to get it to bloom.
JV> I'll probably buy another verbena some time. They're a real
JV> pretty plant when they're even reasonably healthy.
They're pretty blooming, but mine isn't so hot to look at.
JV> BTW: A couple of weeks ago, I finally went out and dug up all
JV> my Lantana plants. They were taking over the back yard. They
JV> are pretty, but you really have to keep an eye out for the
JV> volunteers. They're as bad as the Vinca, but a lot harder to
JV> pull up...
I think I saw in one of my new garden catalogs that they have an
improved Lantana. I'm not sure where I saw it though. I see
both Park's and Burpee carry Lantana. Whatever I saw was supposed
to stay more compact or something. I've never grown it. I can
kill Vinca though. I always had them growing wild around here,
but then I bought some seeds of the fancy kind and they all got
some kind of blight! aw well.
Marilyn
... Now that it is fixed, what is it and what do I do with it?
