The first Strat I bought was a `77.  The neck shifted so badly that my
singer, the klutz, used to bang into me and take the whole guitar out of
tune.  This was really bad, as I'm the only musician onstage.
I had a local tech `secure' the neck.  No more problems.  The rest of
my late 70's brood is rock solid.
