WA is now the only state in Australia where it is still legal to even possess or sell these things. Creative Electronics at Matraville in Sydney no longer manufacture them, but are still importing the BEL series from the US. BTW, as they are now prohibited imports in eastern states, they are being brought into WA and despatched from Creative's Perth office. However, if you ring their Sydney office and ask about buying a detector, they go into panic mode, and start asking you questions about how you heard about them, who told you they were selling them, etc., but once they realised that I was an old client, they were quite happy to send me some brochures. Unlike non-approved modems (which you can legally own, but not legally connect to the PSTN), radar detectors are illegal to possess under any circumstances. And I bet you thought we lived in a democracy. |-) Regards, Bill @EOT: --- Msgedsq/2 3.05 alpha* Origin: VK4CQ, Logan City, Qld.
