I found that ATS38=16 works
(ATS38.4=16 gives an error msg at initialization)
what I didn't mention is that I have an intel faxmodem using a TSR fax
program monitoring the same line and it is set to answer after 1 second.
even if I give a delay of 4 seconds for the ZyXEL to answer a data call
the ZyXEL will actually hangup the call, thereby disconnecting the fax
transmission in progress.
I would like an ini string that tells the ZyXEL simply to do
NOTHING if a fax call comes in
don't answer the call
don't hang up the call
just to simply let the phone ring so that the intel faxmodem can answer
the fax call.
..Or if it is really greedy and must attempt to answer the fax call even
though the intel has already answered,  then some kind of ini that tells
the ZyXel just to wait for 300 seconds (5 minutes) after it recognizes a
fax call so that the intel can take the fax call without any
interference from the ZyXEL during the transmission.
any other ideas ?
