I read in a UK rail magazine that locos running England- France [tunnel] have
cruise control available to the driver. The driver decides, whether to run
auto or manual.
The objective is apparently, for achieving punctuality and saving energy.
ome
of the top drivers, have found that from route knowledge, they are able to do
better on "manual". I guess this is due to their foreknowlege of upcoming
grades/ traffic/ wind resistance. Now I have an off- topic query:
My front drive car has a US cruise control, with magnets fitted to a front
axle. The magnets have apparently, fallen to the highway. The Aust
istributor
doesn't reply to my enquiry, was maybe just an import agent now gone.
The US mfr is Rostra Precision Controls Inc, the model #16-R, and the Manual
is Form #2481 9/92 Rev B.
Please! will someone get me address of mfr. Netmail replies welcome.
I live 100mi from Sydney and the highway is rarely congested.
Thanks Moderator, I will try and stay on- topic. Cheers.....ALEC
