        I've noticed those files too. It is my opinion (underlined) that it 
is a leftover WORK file that Windows and/or Word was using that didn't get 
erased when the file or application was closed. Maybe you had to do a 
 at some time in the past, if so, that will leave some 
files beginning with the ~ (tilde) on your drive. I use the Find command 
every so often and erase all those files after making sure ALL my 
applications are closed. So far I've had no problems.
