They've come down even more recently. Most of the mass-retailers
had DVD+/-RW drives for either $80 or $100 A/R in this past
Sunday paper. For rebate haters, Staples has one DVD+RW drive
for $99, no rebate.

I have a review here somewhere, which indicates that the +RW format
has broader compatibility, so when I get a drive, it will be either
the + or the dual format +/- type.

My, that is a lot of ramdrives. Are they all needed when the software
is migrated to the HDD?

That doesn't cost much these days. I had a 24 exposure roll of film
developed yesterday at the local Costco. I asked about it, and they
charge just under $3 to add the CD to the film processing and prints.
