subject: BDE problems

Hi,
I'm a Delphi 1.0 user and I discovered some weird behaviour with the BDE. All
trouble started when installing DBase 5.0 for windows.
I installed DB5, making sure that the IDAPI directory would not get in the
way of the IDAPI directory of Delphi, by adding DB to the directory name when
installing DB5. I did this mainly because I'm not sure whether both products
use the same BDE level and also because I don't want to loose my current BDE
settings.
After this install, my TQuery components' behaviour completely failed. Most
of the time with a message 'Capability not supported'. All of the TQuery
components subject to this error contain a SQL-where clause.
After removing the IDAPIDB directory and rebooting, all returned to normal,
but I also removed DB5 just to be on the safe side.
Anyone here using both DB5 and Delphi 1.0 without problems ? BTW, I'm running
these programs in a Win95 environment.
If you think your answer will not be 100% suitable for this area, please
return in NetMail. Thx in advance.
Hasta la Modem,
Yves
