G'day Rod,
With regard to:-
RG> RI> wise have missed because it didn't come
RG> RI> under any of the areas defined
RG> RI> by the QWK packet it was in. This might
RG> RI> be a sort comming in QWKRR. I
RG> In defence of QWKRR (or any offline
RG> reader) this is *not* a shortcoming
The problem wasn't that I hadn't selected the areas for my packet, it
was that the message came from another area entirely. I don't even
know what area is was. Artie has set up a direct to himself or Warren
Naismith mail menu, but it doesn't so up as conferences. So I where
the message actually came from with the board.
My point was that if some thing like that happened again, the area
could default to a default area or a netmail area?
As you will see I've now got your 4.1 up and so far I can't say it was
problem free (and I know I'm not telling you anything you don't already
know) It was when QWKRR continued to reload messages over and over
that I went back to 3.5 to read this packet and found out about the
probs. I'm now useing a 1581 emulation to do this. But apart from the
prob. with native mode I've had this this lock up on several occasions
as it reads the next message. It just freezes with the wait message.
This appears to be at random, as I can (after rebooting) continue from
the last message with out a prob.
Also on some messages a '/' appears infront of the 'Area:' on the
header. I've looked at Pg.8 in the manual, but the only reference I
can find is about the '>'. This also seems to be at random but the
messages with the slash keep the slash. Have I missed something in the
manual? Does the slash tell me anything usefull? Or is it one of
those 'features' you told me about some time ago?
Will the Questionair be OK sent through netmail to you? Would you like
me to detail any further probs. with my FD or are you well and truly
covered in that respect?
BTW I do like the new status line, as I often make printouts of some of
the echoes I get and I sometimes would loose track of what I has been
printed and what I hadn't.
Bye.
Reece.
