Hi CHARLES! :-)

CA> From what I was reading, now that tuitions for colleges in
CA> Germany will no longer be free, there may be less Germans
CA> "doing research" in the future.
It depends a bit on the field whether students do any research, but yes.
Stupid move by the politicians. First they complain that Germany hasn't got
enough people finishing higher education, then they make sure that only
rich people can even go to university. It's only the tip of the iceberg,
though, there are quite a few other problems.

CA> They said it costs them as much as $245 US per semester for lab
CA> fees already (WOW!) and I didn't know if I should laugh or cry.
Beats me.

CA> I _would_ like to say "Welcome, Germany, to the REAL world". ;-)
I would like to ask the politicians whether they have thought that move
through, which I don't think they have beyond the fact that this will
generate extra revenue for them to spend.

Ciao
Pascal
