Hi mark! :-) ml> if i had done the !rz &3 again when the CYQ stuff was printing ml> on the screen, the transfer would have taken place but rz would not ml> have been catching it... only the screen... that's what i was ml> describing above WRT "a bit more success"... Looks like just redirecting from the socket to rz is not enough to get it going. Maybe some buffering is taking place and getting in the way, who knows. ml> how did you find out that filedescriptor 3 was connected to a socket? I telnetted to my firewall box, then ^]! to get a shell, then echo $$ to get the shell's PID, then ls -l /proc/PID/fd to see the file descriptors and what they point to. Then I compared that with a local shell process to see what was different (to make sure a normal shell doesn't also have a socket open for some reason).
