BS> Ahh :-) In a year or so, you don't need to run Windows anymore
BS> because we have a "finish" maximus. :)

 RJT> I gotta wait a whole 'nother _year_!? :-(

No no, I'm just kinda sure of that maximus might be well tested in a
year. Most of it works now. :)

RJT> Update on that situation: I got an email from one
RJT> "customer service rep", and today I got another one.

BS> I do get alot of Mails from "Microsoft" every day, but they get
 BS> into the virus/spam folder ;)

BS> But you're talking about those ones from your ISP?

RJT> No, not the ISP, I haven't had much in the way of trouble
RJT> from those folks since I switched providers, I'm talking
RJT> about the people who run this web site where I'm supposed
RJT> to be able to go and get online learning.

Ahh! :) But only with Internet explorer.

RJT> So I replied again, and spelled stuff out. Apparently it's not
RJT> just IE, but also some specific version of netscape that they
RJT> support. I told 'em why I wasn't running that, either -- that
RJT> it's a pig, a real resource hog, and buggy.

BS> Aha, I mean how defficult can it be to support a extra browser,
BS> which look like eachother (mostly) ?

RJT> I guess their difficulty is in staying away from certain
RJT> browser-specific features that somebody figures they just
 RJT> _have to_ use!

Their argument might be "90% of the internet users today, use Internet
explorer, so we optimise this page for internet explorer and we shit on
standards which is widely used in all browsers".

RJT> I pointed out that I have a choice of who to deal with, while
RJT> they have customers, or they don't.

 BS> Indded.

RJT> Their site name contains the word "Global" and I pointed out to
RJT> them how lots and lots of people all over the place,
RJT> particularly outside of this country, weren't running m$ software
RJT> any more, and that maybe they oughta take note of it.

BS> Yes yes, now I understand.

RJT> I'm sure you do -- I just wish _they_ did!

In some situations people can't understand people like us..

RJT> My brother is among that group, he describes himself as "a GUI
RJT> kind of guy" and sees the computer as an appliance, a tool to do
RJT> certain jobs, and that's it.

BS> In this network most of us see's it as a hoppy :-)

RJT> But his eyes were opened when he went from home to work with a
RJT> floppy one day and all sorts of info _from his home machine_
RJT> started showing up on the machine at work! All because of a
 RJT> ".doc" file...

 BS> Cool! ;)

 RJT> That's m$...

It was kinda ironic. :)
