Hopefully alot more people are lurking here than are posting.  I
think most people in the echo are well-informed, so there is not
alot to talk about and they pick up the news here.  On the other
hand, the lack of questions suggests that there are not many new
folks showing up.

The females produce seeds when they are fertilized by pollen from
the males.  But, when they produce seeds, they take away energy from
the leaves.  The idea of separating out the males is to avoid
pollenation, have the females put their energy into the rest of the
plant, and get more THC and other cannabinoids in the harvest.  See

this reply for more details.
