WH> When you installed the OS somewhere during the install process it
asks
WH> a password for the root login. This implys that the user, you, is
'root'.
WH> from the login prompt just type 'root' and then of course the password
you
WH> entered during the install process. If you have forgotten it then you
will
WH> have to reinstall the whole thing over. Once you do get logged on as
root
WH> can change your password using the passwd cmd. Of course you can run
'addu
WH> and add more users but after each one you have to run the passwd cmd.
More
WH> is available by typing 'man adduser' and 'man passwd' or 'adduser
WH> --help' for short info.
Ok, I remember the password and I tried Root aswell. The password works but
then I am aske to type in some more info afterwards. Again, I do not know
hat
it is asking me to do and there IS NO information in the manual as to what I
am supposed to type in. -note, please nobody amswer this with a smart-alek
response like RE-read the manual(I did that!!!) and don't tell me to ask for
refund, you can shut your mouth if your not going to offer REAL help. Anyway,
to continue; I don't know where I am suposed to enter the above commands you
gave me, should I type them in right after my password is accepted or am I
supposed to type in the file number it wants? BTY, this is RedHat 5.
