PE> Pity you never mentioned this before, I thought the USR was perfect.

Most US modems have problems with local telco service tones, although the
USR has been by far the best, apart from the STD pips problem, and even
then, only when calling certain exchanges. In fact, as I don't dial STD
much, yours happens to be the only exchange where this is happening
regularly.

BG> So would a decent exchange.

PE> Do you work for Maestro by any chance?

Dunno what you're on about here, but the service tones are generated by
each individual exchange, and they do indeed vary marginally between
exchanges.

PE> Anyhow, I thought you were switching to Optus? Optus doesn't have pips.

BG> Optus is also slightly more expensive with my dialling habits.

PE> I was surprised when you said you were moving to Optus.

There are certain times when Optus is cheaper, but you have to consider
your own habits before deciding which carrier to use. Overall, Telstra is
cheaper, but only marginally. There's really not all that much in it now.

Seems that I can't use the name field for this after all, but apparently I
CAN use the actual node address. Might have to upgrade to Fastlist v1.15
to do this though (still using version 1.12 here, as there were major
changes between versions, and my old config file wouldn't have worked).
