G'day Leah,

LR>Simply riding 100 miles at one time. This doesn't mean you can't stop
LR>and get off the bike for a rest stop or break. You just do the ride all
LR>in one day. I was talking to a friend this afternoon and she said she
LR>might train for it with me. That would make it more fun.
I thought it would be something along them lines. That would be fun taking
part in on of them rides. You wouldn't need that much training anyway,
would you? Have to find out if there is something like that going over
here. There are a lot of activities going on in the Bicycle world....:)
about which I'm not aware:(
> of all kinds of goods:-) which means I'll be looking at a special
> hybrid? hehe
LR>Sounds like it might just be the one. Mtn bikes are nice for rough
LR>surfaces and riding at night, but a hybrid is a nice compromise for road
LR>riding and as a utility vehicle. Everyone I know who has one likes it.
Yup, I'll keep looking and am sure to find the right one. For the moment
I have fixed mine up again; think there are another few centuries left
in it....:) The main prob I had was, that the new chain I installed must have
been the wrong size, even though it had the right size written on it....
all the measurements used to be in inches, now they are converted into
metric. There might have been a bit of a mixup...who knows...I suppose
one gets what one pays for......
> Bicycle Computer, cost RRP A$37 with 4 functions. That's the smallest
LR>Oh, get one with more than 4 functions! Computers make riding more fun.
Well now you have done it again...making me reconsider if I should get
one or what....don't want to end up with gear, that cost me more then
the cycle....do I now? Cause I like them gadgets and have to watch myself
not to get carried away....>
> dough. But for the run of the mill commuters, most of the cycles come
> from, have a guess....:) from the Tiger countries, all the same places
> most of our cars come from.
LR>That's new to me. What are the Tiger countries? :-)
All the emerging, hard working, lean and mean Asian countries entering
the marketplace competing with the established crowed.....
my bike was made in Taiwan, the sprocket I bought made in Singapore,
my tent (Eurika) made in Korea, Malaysia and Indonesia coming into the
game...see what I mean?....but don't despaire, browsing through the phone
book the other day, I noticed there is an American Bike shop in town.
But I don't know what they are selling....
> Thanks Leah, it was a good one, I'm still riding my bike, aren't I:-)
LR>Yeah, Yeah, YEAH!!! :-) I hope I'm still riding when I'm 80!
So do I !
