the security added to 2K and XP protects microsoft's interests not the
users. it's mainly copy protection and thgat sort of stuff.

the stuff linux has built in is security against misbehaving software and
malicious network activities...

I don't think there are many users capable of trouble-shooting a
misbehaving windows system.
