Can't see such a useful feature being dropped, nor can I see it not being
backwardly compatible between versions.

Because that's how I've compiled my nodelist.

Therefore, "ModemTrans 8 ATX1DT" should (and used to) look for
the V32b flag in the nodelist, and dial ATX1DT if it finds it listed for
that node. Same as I used to use "ModemTrans 1 ATB0DT" to call
HST modems with my old Courier.
