Without digging out some old sound card manuals, I
think most CD connector ends are L-G-R-G where L=left
channel, R= right channel and G=ground. Sound cards
can have either the same or maybe L-G-G-R. Many times
by looking at the PC board the recepticle is on it
will have the letters printed on them for you to see.
most of the time these patch wires don't need both
ground pins connected. usually the red wire is the
right channel, white left, black ground.
