I've bought verbena a couple of times. The first time, it was 
a pretty good sized plant, and I bought it for my patio table 
just after I moved here. The thing became totally covered by 
some kind of mildew. The others I've bought were little buggers.
They just never live for me. I think I need to learn some 
drastic new methods of watering things down here.
I'll probably buy another verbena some time. They're a real 
pretty plant when they're even reasonably healthy.
BTW: A couple of weeks ago, I finally went out and dug up all 
my Lantana plants. They were taking over the back yard. They 
are pretty, but you really have to keep an eye out for the 
volunteers. They're as bad as the Vinca, but a lot harder to
pull up...
