Ah yes, the "because I can" argument... I feel the same way you do as far as 
feeling sorry for Nick and how busy he is.  But don't worry, while we wait for 
Fidonet.org to "someday" be updated, other mirror sites have been updated, 
i.e., filegate.net/zone1 and fidonet.ca/zone1, plus I expect a number of sites 
in Fidonet who mirror those two sites on their own.

Fidonet.org will remain broken as it has been for years and it seems that the 
owner of that domain, Ward Dossche, does not really care if it is broken.  That 
is his prerogative...

And then we have ZC1 who claims that the more I post in the FidoGazette, and 
post 'cutesey' comments the longer he will take issuing the "OK" for the 
change.  That is his prerogative as well.

This whole silly discussion reminds me of the maxim 'You can lead a horse to 
water but you can't make him drink'
