From: John Beckett "Geo." wrote in message news:: > The question becomes one of balance, ... I was whining here a while back that I have been playing with a test machine that has Windows 2003 Server. It's actually a great system, and seems to have super-fast file indexing (it seems very quick when running 'dir /s c:\something'). But the default security system in IE is unbelievably stupid. It's great to have this extra layer of security when browsing, but then I want to download something from a web site. I have to ADD the site to my TRUSTED sites list! That effectively turns off the security system and I suspect that I am then fully at the mercy of the web site. What I want to do, of course, is download the file, then virus scan it, then see if I want to use it. Microsoft would say (rightly) that I shouldn't be using a server to web browse, but I imagine this brain-dead security system is a sign of junk to come.
