Since surge protectors with modem connections are so plentiful and relatively 
cheap these days, that would be very low on my list of priorities when 
choosing a new modem.  Brand reputation, reliability and performance are far 
more important. 
 * LED v1.51 *  A fool and his modem are soon parity.
