RS> Funny, could have SWORN that YOU proclaimed that it should be used.

PE> I did not.

RS> Fraid you did, it was YOU pushing PQWK in the first place.

PE> You don't "push" a product by calling it
PE> the biggest heap of shit you've ever seen.

Pity that was AFTER pushing it.

PE> All I said was to use the latest version of PQWK.

RS> Soorree, when you just code and pray, that aint anything
RS> remotely like rigorous testing and that makes no sense whatever.

PE> USE A DIFFERENT PRODUCT THEN.

Soorree, I will do what anyone with any sense does with ANY new
software, put my brain into gear on when it makes sense to use it.

If YOU havent noticed that the vast bulk of professional computing
is done like that, PARTICULARLY when its not possible to know if some
subtle blemish is causing mail to get lost out in Fido, thats your problem.

PE> 1. I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU USE PROPER POINT SOFTWARE.

RS> Soorree, not into fascism, you dont get to proclaim
RS> on what is the one true path to salvation for us all.

PE> It's a suggestion you moron.

Soorree, you have 'suggested' it plenty of times before and have
been told why I choose not to go that route. So screaming it now
at the top of your lungs doesnt actually change a fucking thing.

You might eventually notice that some of us are quite
capable of deciding for ourselves what we want to do.

PE> Like I said, I don't care what you do, so long as you send me in-spec mail.
PE> Failure to do that, when it has been pointed out to you, is malicious.

Pity I dont ever deliberately send you out of spec messages.

PE> 2. IF YOU INSIST IN USING QWK, I SUGGEST YOU USE
PE> MKQWK ETC THAT ARE USED IN PROPER BBS SOFTWARE.

RS> Soorree, you suggested PQWK in the first place. I dont plan
RS> to immediately change to whatever you proclaim is the one true
RS> path to salvation for us all every time you change your mind.

PE> I did not Rod, I suggested using FD/Fmail/Golded or Binkley/Squish/Msged.

Soorree, I said I didnt want to go that route.

PE> If you choose to use stupid software, that's your problem.

So stop trying to tell me what I should run. I am
quite capable of working that out for myself thanks.

PE> 3. PQWK IS A HEAP OF SHIT, BUT AT LEAST I CAN FIX BUGS
PE> IN IT, AND THERE CURRENTLY ISN'T ANY THAT I KNOW OF.

RS> And since you have done no rigorous testing, and have just coded
RS> and prayed, 'that I know of' doesnt actually say very much at all.

PE> Use a different product then Rod,

No thanks, the same applys to them too.

PE> but just don't send me out-of-spec mail when I've
PE> told you that PQWK250 is sending me out-of-spec mail.

Soorree, you never ever DID tell me that I was sending out of spec
messages. I KNOW I dont send messages with embedded origin lines.

RS> And even the MSGID isnt even a spec in the sense of an FTS ANYWAY.

PE> FTS-9.

RS> Soorree, it specifically say thats OPTIONAL.

PE> Yes, it's optional, but if you choose to generate it, you have
PE> to follow it. YOU were generating it. YOU were not following it.

Crap.

RS> Paul, I dont give a shit what you do, so long as you have the
RS> sense to even notice that the rest of Fido doesnt operate like
RS> you were saying you would, silently binning every single PKT
RS> which contains what you with completely crackpot ideas on
RS> what constitutes 'the specs' claims is a dud message.

PE> The rest of fido probably doesn't have malicious points either.

You dont either.

PE> In this particular case, using PQWK, it is designed to emulate
PE> a BBS, as I used to run. A BBS won't send you kludge lines.
PE> PKT2QWK will strip kludge lines out, so it's just like a BBS.

RS> Thats complete crap too, BBSs dont strip all
RS> kludge likes PARTICULARLY the MSGID and REPLYID.

PE> They do before sending you a QWK packet.

Fraid they dont.

RS> And whether they do or not, you dont get to proclaim that everyone must.

PE> I DO get to proclaim that you send me in-spec messages,
PE> and FIX your software when I discover that you are not.

Which I did, I have NEVER sent you an out of spec message after you
pointed out ONE message which contained a MSGID between an SOT/EOT pair.
