 How log has that backlog been building up. If that is over a period of
 many weeks, the node may have left fidonet.

 Does the node make regular connects, if so, I may have too little free
 storage to accept the mail.

 If it an active node with only a POTS connection, the sheer size may be the
 reason it is not collected, and you would do the node a favour to remove it.
