Long time ago, we were working on some equipment and we noticed that the
RS-232 cable was a warm to the touch. Turns out there was a 2A current
flowing through it, even though the cable was 20ft long at the most and
all the equipment was in one room.
Turns out that the boxes were on two different circuits and the grounding
back at the main box was not quite right.
