| subject: | XP & hyperterminal? |
RJT>RJT>RJT>Can any of you guys tell me if XP contains hyperterminal or
RJT>RJT>RJT>something similar? Or where I could find it in there if so? I'm
RJT>RJT>RJT>trying to get a family member to be able to dial into my bbs.
RJT>RJT>JE> XP sure does contain Hyperterminal - This is the baby brother of
RJT>RJT>JE> HyperAccess. Both work just fine. HyperAccess has more
features and
RJT>RJT>JE> is not free.
RJT>RJT>So where is it, then?
RJT> JE> ????? I do not understand. When I loaded XP Pro on my system there
RJT> JE> it was. I normally do a FULL install of everything when installing
RJT> JE> any program. Maybe it was an optional load item.
RJT> JE> It's under
RJT> JE> Programs
RJT> JE> Accessories
RJT> JE> Communications
RJT> JE> Hyoerterminal
RJT> JE> On my system.
RJT>That's what I was looking for...
RJT>This ain't my machine, I don't know XP, don't wanna get to know it, and
RJT>don't have the time to sit there poking around and trying to find it. :-)
Roy, I honestly think excluding XP is a big mistake. I started out with
DOS in the very early days of PCs, went to OS2, when it sorta folded
went to Windows, then on to the various later versions of Windows, and I
honestly find XP to be the very best operating system. I tried Linux
briefly and had to drop it because there just wasn't any applications
available to properly do the things I was interested in. It is/was a
good OS, but there just wasn't enough people writing applications for it
since Windows had such a strangle hold on the public.
However, it is used by the extremely great majority of the computer
using population - there fore will always have the most advanced
applications. However, I do detest MS's methods of operation.
To each his own, I suppose.
Glad it was of some help.
