Hello Tom -

RJT>>> This goes for the commercial stuff, too. I can still
RJT>>> remember encountering a package almost 20 years ago,
RJT>>> something with one of those 1-word package names that
RJT>>> Lotus came out with, I can't recall which one it was
RJT>>> now. I sat there and looked through all of the
RJT>>> literature that came with the damn thing, and after all
RJT>>> of that I still had no idea what the package DID! And I
RJT>>> still don't!

TW> There was also "Sidekick" and HAL. :-)

I don't remember the pedigree of each of these but I seem to
recall that 'Allways' was a third party addon that LOTUS
attempted to mimick and then finally just purchased 'Allways'
and used it instead of their own failed attempts. Meanwhile
Borland's 'Quattro Pro' could do everything LOTUS could do and
was a very small binary (can't recall the size) written entirely
in ASM. It failed in the market place (of course) since people
didn't believe such a small 'install' could be as good as the
then bloated Windows installs of similar apps. :-)

TW> I still have soem Books on those plus Allways. And a Thick
TW> "Que" book on Lotus 123(copywrite 1987).

In those days QUE wrote some of the best tutorials I had in my
posession. I've not purchased any in a long time now but I
would check the QUE version(s) for anything first before making
a purchase. :-)
