PE> Do an honest comparison, Bill, not one that includes breaking the law.

BG> Oi, I did NOT break the law. Customs CHOSE not to charge me the $66 sales

PE> You do by running a non-Austel-approved modem.

BG> Jeeze, are you still on about THAT !

Is it still the law?

PE> And are you sure you're not meant to declare sales-tax-payable items
PE> to the customs officer if they don't pick up on it?

BG> Not my responsibility, Paul. THEY chose not to collect the sales tax.

Sounds like the answer is "Yes, I'm meant to". So breaking the law
twice, hey Bill, I can just go and steal one from Dave Hatch if I
am happy to break the law. $0. $195 less than the cheapest Yum
Cha.

PE> A non-sysop can get a USR for about $725. And can get a Yum Cha for
PE> around $270. That's actually $455 extra.

BG> The cheapest yum-cha Austel V.34 I've seen locally is now only $195.

Not that that is an honest price either. *I'm* wanting to buy one,
*I'm* not a dealer. The cheapest external I've seen is around
$270. BFN. Paul.
