Tolerance isn't taught in schools, and some folks lack the capacity to learn
it. It's like music or languages - if you don't hvae the right genes, you
can
become somewhat proficient, but always obvious as someone lacking the
feeling.
Heinlein had it right - 'Leave to others their otherness.'
Interestingly enough, some of the abuses would be humerous if not so
aggravating. A service pal of mine, in training as a physician did a stint
in
a hospital in Birmingham, and almost left the processin when he was
confronted
on a daily basis by folks whose mindset was that they were owed his services
ahead of all comers because they could not pay - and ahead included ahead of
those who could pay.

I have no problem with folks who use something legitimately. I have a real
problem with those whio will use it simply because it's there, necessary or
not.
Of course, I'm old enough to recall when personal responsibility was
something
to be prized and something in which pride could be taken.
