| subject: | DEBUGGING & 2.99 BETA |
VJ>Ive learned by another message in this area that there are 2 kernels VJ>supplied with 2.99: small and full. The full kernel (larger but not slower) VJ>will contain the APIs to use debuggers like IPMD. Phew!, I was worried about being left out of the 2.99 parade! Sounds great but the debug problem has kept me away. I'll be getting another 200MB HDD soon so I think I'll make a partition for it on that drive and install Boot Manager. BTW can boot manager exist with Dual Boot already on drive C:? I don't want to have to make two partitions out of that drive if I use Boot Mangler, one for dos, on for original OS/2..., Bootmanager selecting between Dual Boot on drive C and th extra 2.99 partition on drive D:. VJ>My previous message refered to the debug kernel which is something VJ>completely different. So the Beta has 3 kernals? Lite, Full, Debug ? I know about the debug kernel on the Tool Kit disk and Devcon disks. I need two machines to use that.. Should I wait for the next beta / GA of this? I see lots of problems reported but part of me says that the satisfied customers always make less noise than th Dissatisfied... Or should I go for it now? I have no tricky hardware.
