subject: C++ object databases = any suggestions?

I'm thinking of buying a C++ object database library such as the "POET
Object Database for C++". There is an introductory special on it
until August 31 for $299. (The company can be reached at 800-950-8845 for
anybody who wants to call.) The advertisement claims the product allows
C++ objects to be stored in a database without having to write code to
interface to a typical relational or dBase style database library.

Does anybody out there have experience with this product or something
similar? If so, what are your thoughts about good and bad points of any
such products?
