true, but irrelevent, this is the only transfer that i've had trouble with,
and i've gone all out to try and break transfers, and since i started using
winfossil and binkley nt, i have had no success in doing so. pity it had to
be on this transfer though.

hopefully this message will get to you without gmd binning it, it looks
like i eventually found the bug. i couldn't understand how some messages
were going out one character short, but some were ok. it seems that there
were 2 bugs, there was a problem with not clearing the message buffer
properly that caused it's length to be calculate one character too *long*
sometimes, but then, then i added the extra cr after the eot kludge, i
didnt add it to the message length. so when the buffer length was right,
the message was bad, and when it was wrong, the message was ok!
