2.59 was the original version in use here, then I changed to BTPE 3.0 which
did work with the old form of ModemTrans (which I only actually needed to
use when the new 33600bps EPROM went into the Sportster (US/Canada model],
as it started occasionally dropping carrier when it heard the STD pips). 
The Courier doesn't have this quirk, so I no longer need to use ModemTrans.
 I presume this means that the original BTPE was based upon the 2.50 source
code?
