You seem to be coming down a little hard here, Dave. He did say something
about a "sniper rifle" - though that's not very clear - and $700-800. I
guess theoretically, a real sniper rifle is intended for potential use
(military or police) on people. But as we know, almost any long-range
rifle could be used for sniping if necessary, hence sometimes we use the
term that way. But given the caliber and that it's intended for
long-range use - and the price range - we ought to be able to do pretty
good. (I suggested the Savage as it came up recently in another
discussion of sniper rifles. Though if he's set on a semi-auto, I think
his price range is too low.)
By checking the area code of his origin, I decided it was San Antonio,
BTW. I did get on him a little bit about that.
So, were you just having a bad day? You could always go to the range and
relieve some stress.
