In business "If you're not growing, you are dying" is an old
axiom that seems to have tested as true in my lifetime. 

I understand that business are pressured to compete with other
business for new investment of capital for expansion (or die)
and that the 'bottom line' must be pumped up as others have
done. 

I can only say that more creative persons in management might
find efficiencies to produce greater profits rather than assume
the customer will tolerate continual increases just to pump
their 'bottom line'. :-\
