No, the problem is with ONE V.32bis modem calling a V.32terbo-capable
modem, albeit at V.32bis.  It's the V.32terbo kludge which is somehow
triggering the problem in THAT model Supra, which is why the later ones
work fine.

Given that even the later Supras work just fine, the assumption has to be
that the code in Rod's old V.32bis model is in some way deficient.

There's a hell of a lot more to it than that, and you know it.  I think
you'll find that the public's and the shareholders' confidence goes a long
way to determining a company's on-paper value, and that is generally the
result of the perception of the quality of that company's products, and
their sales figures (and profits).  Very little to do with gouging at all.
