in actuality, this chain of events could take place even if it DID
perform a sanity check on execution... do a verified clean boot with the
program on the write protected floppy... accept no half measures...
have pkzip on a likewise write protected bootable floppy when you need to
update your scanner disk in a known clean environment...
self checks stop anything, they just make certain activities more
difficult... real security stops things like the above though...
... incest... a game the whole family can play...**
