originally it was AT&F1&K3
then somebody sugessted this
 AT&F1&K3&M5S13=64S15=16&N8
the &N8 forces 14k4, i don't know if the forced 14k4 is helping or its the
bits in the middle i don't have a clue what it menas. i've just ugraded mu
courier to the latest version of x2 sdl for an ausrtalian courier that is.
in a week or two most of this will become academic as my service provider is
packing up his tent and leaving for canade for a year or so on some sort of a
grant or someting like that.
as i said it seems to have stablised no with this string. funnily enough,
when the problem started i tried &N8 and the two modems refuded to negotiate.
i put on anohter 14k4 modem and it refuded to work, i even tried my trusty
old microcom deskporte fast+ at 14k4, this to faled.
its not a modem problem, its not a poor qualiity line this only leaves the
modems protocol stack or the modem at the other end. now it too has a perfect
track record with all modems apart from mine, and npw the chief engineer from
out national telcoms povidor, who also uses usr courier v.everyting u[graded
to the most recent x2 sdl.
problems like this are damnably frustrating, especially if you are not so
sure aboiut your own equipment and suffer from a little 'anziety problem' so
to speak.
cheers
