Yes, well I don't understand why a computer wouldn't boot at all but as we
all know it happens. For example lets say boot.ini doesn't get trashed but
instead you add a drive which makes all the drive letters change or
something along those lines, just something that makes it so the computer
looks for boot.ini someplace where it is not.

Recovery from a boot failure where the OS install has not been damaged
should be a very simple thing, in fact on W2K it is a very simple thing but
with XP they tried to make it easier by using a wizard. Unfortunately the
folks who wrote the wizard weren't wizards themselves so it ended up being
rather lame and instead of easier it's just useless 66.6% of the time now.
(either that or the copy protection people screwed it up on purpose)
