MW> Good for you...You realise what most other parents find out sooner or
MW> later...each child is different and some react to medicines, food,
MW> treats, etc. in a different manner...Each one of my 8 children is a
MW> bit different from the other...3 are AD(H)D, one is ADD, the others
MW> are "normal", (what ever that means) and they are different from each
MW> other...
Yes a difficult road. I'm not sure what is "normal" anymore as I have one
that is not ADHD, but yet is very impulsive with money, imperfection and
such. Since ADHD runs rampant in our family, maybe I will never know
what "normal" is. Or is there such a thing?
MW> One or two of them can't stand mashed potatoes...does that mean that
MW> they were neglected?...or that I was a parent that didn't want to help
MW> my child ...I don't think so...and I didn't feed any of my kids a lot
MW> of sugar.. they were given home baked treats and I didn't use a lot of
MW> sugar in the preparing of these treats ... and *still* 4 of them are
MW> AD(H)D....the other 4 receiving the same foods are not....
Yep, understand that. Funny, you get a child with a disorder, then you
start looking at what did I do to cause this. It seems we look at every
little thing we did. Like I didn't eat breakfast that one morning. Now
its my fault. They had a candy bar today, so therefore their behavior
is related to that, even though they may have acted the same way for a
week. I'm glad I'm through with most of that. Although every once in
a while some guilt trip still creeps in.
MW> So on the above observations of *my* family memebers, I can say that
MW> for *us* food played no part in helping or causing AD(H)D....
Yep, got that one. Well that's two of us here. Wonder if we should take
a poll on this one.
