Thought you might be interested in this C-band vs PRIMESTAR channel
lineup. Lots of channels that are listed by TV Agent appear on both
services. TV Agent is still aimed at C-band viewers, but PRIMESTAR
viewers can use the same listings. They (the TVLIST??.* listings
files) come daily to all Planet Connect BBS hubs and Skylink
subscribers via satellite, and to TV Agent subscribers via BBS or
ftp.planetc.com/tvlistings .
I'm not familiar with what program info PRIMESTAR provides on the TV
screen, but the TV Agent listings are MUCH more detailed (and updated
much later) than the printed monthly guide PRIMESTAR supplies. A
PRIMESTAR viewer wanting to use TV Agent to remember hilites and
deletes, and for the episode details, wants the PRIMESTAR channel
numbers to show up on his computer screen, rather than the C-band
satellite/channel locations that come in the listings. So, the
PRIMESTAR viewer can cut on the dotted lines and save the text below
using the filename MYCHAN.TV2 . That will cause TV Agent to display
the descriptions in the PRIMESTAR column for these 64 channels. The
other 69 C-band channels that TV Agent carries, but which are not
listed here because PRIMESTAR doesn't carry them, will continue to
show up with the C-band location. PRIMESTAR viewers will probably tell
TV Agent not to display those channels at all.
